Memdeklaro is a free and open-source platform that empowers individuals to self-declare their identity without relying on governments, corporate entities, or other third parties. It addresses the systemic issue of state monopolies on identification, which often exclude millions of people—such as stateless individuals, refugees, and victims of abuse—from essential services like employment, housing, and healthcare due to the arbitrary circumstances of their birth.
The platform features a privacy-first ID generator that runs entirely locally in the user's web browser, ensuring that no personal data is ever transmitted or stored in a central database. Users can easily input their self-chosen name, birth date, and photo to instantly generate a printable self-declaration of identity. This document can be printed as a standard business card or CR-80 plastic card and deliberately omits exclusionary details such as birth country, citizenship status, and parents' names.
Built as a humanitarian alternative to traditional government-issued IDs, Memdeklaro champions the fundamental freedoms of name, belief, and association. It is designed for anyone who believes that a person's identity should be a conscious personal choice, allowing them to live and associate freely without arbitrary restrictions.
